Hyde Park Picture House

The Hyde Park Picture House, one of Leeds’ most recognisable movie theatres, opened its doors in 1914, shortly before World War I began. Despite being a stunning Grade II listed building, many of the original features have been preserved in the interior. It’s a one-of-a-kind cinematic experience that no one can’t recreate in today’s theatres. 

In its 275-seat theatre, which is outfitted with digital projectors, they show anything from indie films to Hollywood blockbusters (but also has two old Cinemeccanica Victoria 8 machines for use during special events). The Leeds International Film Festival is held in the Hyde Park Picture House, which also hosts the Leeds Young Film Festival.
